Meryl Allen

Meryl has been working with David Gordon since 1989 and with Gordon & Jacobson since its inception. She is the office manager for the firm and handles most procedural aspects regarding patents and trademarks. Any questions pertaining to filing fees and other costs, due dates, foreign filing information, bookkeeping and other matters of a non-technical nature should be directed to Meryl.

Karen Hayworth

Karen joined Gordon & Jacobson in September of 2005. Karen earned her B.A. degree in linguistics from Brandeis University, magna cum laude, in 1977, and her J.D. degree from New York University School of Law in 1980. At NYU, she served as a Note and Comment editor of the Journal of International Law & Politics. Following graduation, she practiced law for four years as an associate in the Corporate Department of a mid-sized boutique law firm in New York City, working primarily in the areas of general corporate and securities law. Thereafter, she continued to practice corporate law for two years at a smaller law firm, also in New York. After successfully pursuing a second career as a soccer mom, Karen is pleased to return to the world of law. She is assisting Meryl Allen, while learning the procedural aspects of patent and trademark prosecution. Karen is dedicated to providing the same superb quality of client service offered by Meryl. Karen is a member of the Bar of New York State.

Sia Bakis

Sia joined Gordon & Jacobson in 2006 and is often the first voice to greet callers by telephone. She is responsible for preparing cases and documents for filing with the PTO, IDS preparation, as well as checking the status of cases for clients through the PTO's PAIR system. In addition, Sia actively maintains the firm's account receivable book.
