David S. Jacobson


David
graduated from University
of Michigan in 1989
with a B.A. degree in psychobiology. He then attended New Jersey Institute of
Technology where he received an M.S. degree in 1992 in biomedical
engineering, with work focused on the intersection of biomechanics,
prostheses and material science.
While studying for his master's degree David worked at The Biomedical
Engineering Trust and Endotec, Inc., both in New Jersey, gaining hands-on engineering
experience in biomedical engineering and materials science.
After leaving engineering practice, David attended law school at George Washington University,
obtaining a J.D. degree in 1995. While attending George Washington
University, David
clerked at the International Trade Commission in the Office of Unfair Import
Investigations where he was involved in matters under Section 337 of the
Tariff Act and various complex issues of patent and trade secret law. David
also clerked at a small law firm where he was involved in international
patent and trademark licensing.
David currently works with clients to develop strategies for intellectual
property. David prepares and prosecutes patent and trademark applications,
prepares legal opinions to defend and protect client rights, and negotiates
and drafts intellectual property agreements.
David has experience in technology related to many diverse fields, including
medical devices (in orthopedics, ophthalmology, endoscopy and laparoscopy,
cardiology, among others), material science, artificial intelligence systems,
rocket propulsion systems, audio systems, and numerous mechanical arts.
David is licensed to practice law in Connecticut,
New York and New Jersey and before the U.S. Patent and
Trademark Office.
